IB PRIMARY
YEARS PROGRAMME (PYP)
At Dwight, we believe in nurturing the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world beyond. Grounded in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP), our curriculum provides a strong foundation for academic excellence, innovation, and lifelong learning.

Our educators empower students to become independent, critical thinkers who take ownership of their learning. We recognise and support each student’s unique passions, strengths, and potential. This approach reflects the Dwight pillar of personalised learning.
Through a broad and balanced curriculum, including mathematics, science, language and literacy, social studies, the arts, physical education, Arabic, and a choice of French, Mandarin, or Spanish, alongside Islamic Studies in line with KHDA guidelines, students gain essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes for the future.
Learning is driven by six transdisciplinary themes that connect concepts across subjects, enabling students to explore big ideas that matter in a global context. Each unit of inquiry fosters deep understanding, personal connection, and real-world application.
We emphasise cognitive, emotional, social, and physical well-being, helping every child grow into a confident, compassionate, and internationally minded individual. Students are encouraged to develop agency, take initiative, and act with integrity, preparing them not only for academic success but also to contribute meaningfully to their communities and the wider world.
